What do some of your reloading manuals say ? Or check out load data from the maker on your request.

I had the same question about AA2200. My Western Powders date book doesn't list it for the 17 Fireball but it doesn't list it for the 20 Vartarg as well. AA2200 is the go to powder for me in my 20 VT as well as my 20 SCC. Seems several others have had the same experience with it. Curious why AA 2200 isn't listed by Western. I'm also curious if others are using it.

I have been using AA2200 for a few years in my 221FB and 223 Remington. I also like RL7 in the 221FB, and have used it longer, but have started using more AA2200 since it costs less. Loads either are about the same, and comparable accuracy in my rifles.

I got one of the new Western Powder manuals last year before Hodgdon bought them.

AA2200
20 grain Nosler Varmg 17.2 start@3821——— 19.1 max@4175
25 grain Hdy Vmax 16.1 start@3428——— 17.8 max@3742

FYI no data for .17 MachIV

I have 16#'s ( IIRC) of the older DATA 2200. I tried it in my 20SCC and it did not like it at all. I used 4198 instead.

If anyone has use for the 2200 and close to Iowa, send me a PM.

AA2200 is also great in 223 Remington with light bullets, like the 40VMAX or 45gr Hornet or 45 SPT bullets. I have used both the AA2200 and the 2200 Data powder.
