Default Any Sako Riihimaki experts?

I just purchased (at auction, haven't seen yet), a Sako Riihimaki L46 in 218 bee. When I do searches I see that they had a square looking bolt shroud, but the one I bought is round. I also can't tell if I have a factory barrel or not. It seems like most Sako's have the chamber marking directly in front of the action transversely, but this one is down the barrel like any other manufacturer.

See if you can read all the markings.
It should say where it was made,
and the brand etc. IF it does, you've
got an original.

Hope you enjoy about the finest rifles ever made.
That should be a fun cartridge to play with.

The bolt configuration would indicate that is a L461 as the L46 does have a square bolt shroud.

L 46 should have a box magazine where as the L 461 was an internal set like a rem 700. I am not a sako expert but that is my thoughts if factory original in 218 been its a rare bird

Sounds like an L461 to me. That can be a good thing, as L46 stock selection is nearly nil. The L461 trigger is like the latter Sako's.

From what I've gathered so far, this is a L46 that was built in 1950. The very early models didn't have the square bolt, but instead a left side wing safety. And the very early rifles did have their chamber on the side. Sounds like I lucked into a little bit of a rare one. Only problem is the ugly aftermarket stock. Someone filed off and sign of a palm area so it looks like a english shotgun stock. Guess I'll order a nice one from Richards Microfit and get out all the finishing tools.
