its a bit blurry, but too much can be reground to correct, but too short is what it is and you're hosed.

Looks like the FB is .024", is that long for that cartridge? You can always call Kevin Weaver and ask about your concerns since it is his design. Good luck with it, looks like a tiny cartridge.

Bob I "think" the problem is where it starts at .1725 and goes to .160 with the 1 1/2* taper. I always spec .168 which I believe most barrels are. That .160 would give a longer throat since it's .008 smaller .

Freebore is .010". There is always a chamfer at the end of a end of the chamber and it isn't normally counted in the freebore number.

I dont see a point (dimension) on the cartoon where the reduction in diameter occurs in relation to the 1.164 dimension.
But if its at the 1.174 mark I get 100 thousandths.
If the tangent to the rifling starts at the 1.413 mark I get .248 and .250 is a quarter inch.

Thats quite a jump.

the drawing looks stretched out further than
the numbers indicate.
That might be what you're seeing.

here is a picture of a loaded round with the bullet seated so it is just touching the lands. as you can see there is a slight waist as the bullet is seated only 1/2 the way down the neck. the rifle shoots sub .50 with this seating arangement.

Is that waist showing up after fire forming or after you neck size ? Would a light trim of the neck take that out ?
