Default CZ 527 Hornet action

But as far the offering at MidSouth, hard to beat a mini action for 400 bucks or so, all steel; good rep, barrels are a dime a dozen. I assume stocks are out there to, but never looked beyond semi inlets.

A deal for the right guy.[/quote]

Other than via CZ themselves, where are the barrels a dime a dozen. I would like to find a source for separate barrel sales on the 527 models. Bill K

The bolt locks at the back so the stretchy bolt/receiver is also a little hard on brass (compared to my cooper m38 in the same chambering). With the 24" barrel, it's one of the longest rifles I have too. It shoots well, but it's not my favorite.

I'm not trying to argue, I'm just curious.

But to be honest.........if CZ had the same bottom metal/mag config as the Ruger, and an "american style" safety, it couldn't be beat.

I just prefer the Ruger, well because, the CZ is a CZ.

The Ruger is lighter, better contoured stock, better handling (in my opinion), with zero negatives for me compared to the two big negatives I find in the CZ.....the mag and the safety.

Throw the same scope in some rings on the CZ and it weighs 7lbs 7 ounces or so...............Awfully heavy for a "mini action"...........CZ should take note and start contouring the stocks so they aren't so "clubby".

Anyway, I have nothing against those who like the CZ.

My CZ K hornet is for sale...........FYI

Calhoon generally list CZ take off Hornet barrels for sale if the sporter contour interest you. Of course at that point why not just buy a 527 hornet.

I have two cz and I like them. I dont like the backwards safety, I dont shoot it enough to become habit. It then becomes difficult to remember each time. The price on these actions seems high after shipping and ffl. By the time you buy the stock and barrel it's getting pricey. I guess the only reason would be for a custom barrel/cartridge. My factory barrel shoots so tight I couldn't beat it with a custom one. I would assume if you took the time you may be able to part out a factory gun and be less in then the action. Just a thought
