Default Lets go back a year or so.

There was a man that, IIRC, made race car parts, maybe a machinist?
He was " re loading rim fire rounds" and using different 20 caliber center fire bullets?
He made special shell holders and dies to reform the rim fire case necks.
Pulled the bullets, reformed the cases and used the same powder over again.
Had a couple of rifle projects with different 20 caliber bore barrels and maybe different chamber reamers for his remade ammo and it looked to come out pretty good.
Maybe from the Indiana area?
Seems like right off someone mentioned,
"It'll never work, different size bullets, wrong bore size, etc. bla bla" rolleyes
BUT, it did and from what I remember, seemed to come out REAL GOOD.
Rattle that Grey Matter (put on those thinking caps ) and see if any of you can remember something about it.
Seems like I may have had his contact information at one time but never followed thru.ops:

Mikie.. I remember something about him and that subject, but being not very good at search mode, I can not locate anything. Someone surely will know, it was interesting, however I never thought about reloading rim fire myself. Bill K

That's Him. Thread only 6+ years old. Funny how time fly's when you're having fun.

Bill:
Wasn't so much of reloading as re configuring the ammo. Love the look of that 22 rim fire case with that little 20 caliber center fire bullet.

Ive got my H&R 157 in 22 magnum so already set up as a rim fire I would love to fit a 5mm rem rimfire barrel maybe Green river would profile a 20 cal barrel to match the H&R thereby avoiding stubbing and I could have a bottom piece soldered on

I just can't find a suitable stub down here if anyone has an ejector model maybe 20 gauge that would sell me the stub section it would be a help

NC Mikie:

Wonder what happened to Baldwin, he dropped off in '14.
Have you tried to contact him from his e'mail?

Could it be he blew himself into a grave?

Talking "Several tenths of a grain scared me after I blew one up with
just ONE tenth increase.

H110 is not the right powder for such a tiny case either. AA 1680 is much better. And there's others I haven't played with.

IF you learn what happened to make him drop off, I'd like to know.
Nice looking lil cartridge he had going there.

George:
This guy "Fred" doesn't strike me as the type that would just throw a batch of powder in a case and go. I'am thinking he's way ahead of us in the R&D area.
And thinking back, I just can't see it being 6 years ago that I read something about his projects. Maybe 2 years at the most and at that time, he had dies and shell holders available. Time sure fly's but not THAT fast. Well maybe? My Great Grand Daughter, the one I held when she was a day or two old is heading for 22 years old in a very short time. And I thought it was only a few years ago?
