Default Chuck Season is Underway!

I have been out 4 times this spring for rock chucks. Killed 82 so far on private land. Most with a custom AR in 22 Nosler and several with a Christensen Arms 22-250.

The load for the 22 Nosler is a 53 Grain Vmax with H4895. The performance of this load is fantastic! The AR features 24" 1-8 twist Ballistics advantage barrel, Aero Upper, Lower, Precision Nitride M-16 BCG, Quantum FFHG, CMMG Lower parts and CMC trigger and Luth AR MBA 1 stock.
Shoots .3 MOA.

My next trip this weekend the 20 BR will be up in the rotation with a good old 223 700 or a custom 6.5 Grendel.

Sounds like a very good area, but I hope taking that many out in that area does not remove all the seed and none will be there next season. Bill K

Default Rock chucks

Never hunted them, but sounds like a great season for you.
I’m after PDs in seven weeks.

Good post, Stormbringer..........

My first thought when I saw the above comment was that you have been here for quite a few years even though you don't post a bunch, and that this is not your first rodeo. Thanks for confirming that in my mind.........

Fix your pics........
I can't see them, and I'd love to.
Thanks.

Sounds like a great private land outing. I'm still socked in with snow.........but, they are out regardless.....How many chucks can you spot on this snowed in rock pile?

I see 3. The one was pretty hard to see until I spotted his eyeball.

I assume that after the picture was taken you opened fire? Hope so! Great picture, makes me homesick.
