Default .223 remington

The Remington has a lot of wild cat children to its name. small and large bore. I guess the Short is the newest and most promising. TCM gets the most attention, but for some reason it turns me off.

Is anyone able to tell me why when the .223 gets modified, everyone cuts it off? A .223 rem that is left at 45mm long for case length would be a very interesting improvement.

Example, what happens when you reform a .223 case using a .300 black out die modified to stop at the existing distance for the .223 shoulders?
