I built about 15 AR's in 17 Remington using Pac-Nor three groove barrels in 1:10 and 1:12 twist. The 1:12 twist actually shoots the factory 25gr Remington ammo better than 1:10 but won't stabalize a 20gr V-Max. The 1:10 twist barrels all preferred the 30gr Starke or 30gr Berger bullets over anything else.

Believe it or not, I had a couple customers that did not reload and were only going to run factory ammo through their guns, hence the 1:12 barrels.

Default 17Remington "electricity"

Welcome to the world of 17Remington "electricity"
I'm a coyote hunter and only kill these for their furs during prime fur seasonal conditions ...My TWENTY calibres (20ppc, 20BR) have been sitting unused for the last 2 years.
Meantime, I've only used a factory CZ Varmint 17Remington reloaded with Remington brass, CCIBR4, 24.0 H4895 and 25gr Berger Target bullet @ 4050 fps with a Nightforce scope.
When a coyote gets shot ...they act identical to be hitting with "electricity" they die while standing on four legs before they hit the ground.
I can't remember having a spinner coyote...
I've shot coyotes from 25 to 400 yards and have never had fur damage.
My longest kill was this winter at 450 yards - broadside heart shot....down!
Most impressive shot was a Red Fox curled up @ 300 yds. next to his burrow on an open field knoll. One shot - behind the ear - no fur damage!
The recoil is less then a 223...noise level is same as 223 ...
My 17Remington investments in Redding competition dies with titanium bushing...500 rounds of new Remington brass and 500 rounds of NOSLER brass. Added a COOPER MTV 17Rem. to my arsenal for next season but still unsure if this is a keeper rifle.
Ordered a PACIFIC reamer for future custom barrel.
Nothing but great things to say about the 17Rem.

26.0 grains of W760, Rem 7 1/2 primer, 25 V-Max equals 3884 fps. Super accurate, not anywhere near max. Good luck with your project.

Pac Nor did a 17 REM on a CZ for me. One of the absolute wonders of a rifle! Pac Nor is a Quality Outfit! Every rifle and barrel I have received from them has been a true "Keeper" and shot well from the beginning. Have to say though, on the 17REM, my 17 Fireball that Dasherr did for me has replaced taking the 17REM out of the safe. I really cannot tell a difference in the performance of the two cartridges and the 17FB uses less powder and I have had less brass "issues" with the Fireball. Still, that little extra from the 17 REM may be just what is needed by so many that report on their coyote success with it.

Default 17 remmy

Mine is a cz varmint 17 remington, it has a 1in 9 twist and flings the 25 gr bergers and 30 gr kinlder golds over vargert and 8208 xbr and remington 7.5s. I got 100 pieces of new r-p brass with the rifle and have been forming from 204 ruger and its fairly easy. 223 brass comes up a little short but does work.

.223 brass will end up short, 204 Ruger brass will work good. Reloader 15 is good for 25 gr bullets or Winchester 748. Winchester 760 is a little too slow for 25gr bullets, but is accurate and gives a full case. Larry

I made a few up using .223 - the short necks bothered me so I just threw the altered .223's into one of the garbage brass tins.
W760- same as H414 is good, as-is AA2230, H4895.

I'm looking to buy a reamer for myself, as I'd like to re-chamber my CZ .17AH barrel back to .17Rem - just because.
