Default 22x47L?

Just built a 22x47L, but no load data anywhere. I'm using varget, 75gr amax, 27" Brux 4g.

Any 75gr load data would be helpful.

Default 22x47l

Check with Lenwood Harrell (powder measure folks); I think that that is one of his favorite rounds.

Adam, Can you use 22-250 data for a starting load? I understand that the 22-47L case capacity is between the 22-250 and the 22-250AI.

22-Satan MK2

35 grains of varget,24"barrel,75 amax, 3220 fps, 99.92 percent burn, 57385 psi

.5 gr more and your up to 59705 psi

36 gr and your 62115 psi and 3296 fps, 100% burn

all still in the "purple" range of pressure in Quikload.

I ended going with a 22-243 Middlestead....and then a 22-6mm Rem.

Spook, thanks for that. I'm actually running in the neighborhood of 41gr and a 50gr bullet for fireforming. It'll put 3 into a .5" group at 200 with no issue. Now that all my cases are fireformed I'm switching over to the 75gr Amax. I'll get some pictures up when my phone gets fixed.

Default 22X47L Loads

Yes, you can use 22/250 data as starting loads. My 22X47L with 26" 8-twist Krieger barrel shoots extremely well with RL-17 and the 75gr Amax. IMR4007 also does well, but the powder is hard to find. (I heard it had been discontinued.) I don't remember the exact RL-17 load off hand, but if you are interested I can check my records. There is also some discussion at end of this article http://www.accurateshooter.com/cartridge-guides/22-250/ Vic

** The top target is 50gr VMax**

Not shabby for a 10x scope. The Wolf primers really let me down. At the upper end of the loads the primers would blank intermittently. Not all would do it, just a few. Back to the CCI 450. I was using the new IMR 4166 which has the same burn rate as Varget and it's a very dirty powder, but it's a really, really good powder, imo. The Brux is the first I have had and it's nice. It cut and chambered nice and cleans fast. I still have to finish the rifle off, polish the barrel, clean the action, ect. It should make for a long range ground hog thumper.

22-250 data will work. Give Hybrid 100 a try with the heavy bullets...
