Default ISO gunsmith to rebarrel CZ 527

Hello,
I'm new here and am trying to find a gunsmith that can rebarrel a CZ 527 to .218 mashburn bee. If anyone knows someone who can do this please let me know how to contact them. I have a shot out CZ in .22 Hornet, and I have about a thousand virgin .218 Bee brass that I'd love to use. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry Chandler

You will get a lot of references for the work but wondering how many rounds it took to shoot out a hornet barrel?

Default Shot out Hornet

This gun was never a tack driver, but I loaned it to a "friend" to whack some coyotes, and when it came back there was a dark bump half way down the barrel and I can't get it out. I've even tried lapping the barrel, but that spot won't come out. Even if I could, I'd rather have the mashburn bee just cause I like the wildcats.
Thanks, BC

Default CZ 527 rebarrel

Is this a gunsmith? If so, can you tell how to get in touch with him?

Yes, hes a gunsmith. REALLY good one. You'll pay for his work and wait awhile for it too.

Two others I'd recommend are Dave Bruno and Bob Green. Never used Dave myself but I have buddies who have. Bob Built a pair of 17 ackley hornets back when that cartridge was the rage here. Top notch. Also build a 6dasher for me that set a 4 records....

I'd make a visit to James Calhoon's website where you can pick up a replacement CZ527 22 Hornet barrel at a pretty cheap price. Have the barrel set back a turn and have it chambered in 22 K-Hornet. The 17 Hornet magazine will feed the 22K without a hitch. No bolt face mods and you can fund the conversion by selling your highly sought after 218 Bee brass. Have a 218 Mashburn Bee myself, but I'm not convinced that you'll be able to modify the magazine to get it to feed from the clip.

Default CZ 527 rebarrel

Hey Johnlee,
Thanks for the input, and you're probably right. My main reason for doing this is to get a cut rifled barrel in the Mashburn chamber to shoot Lyman 50 gr. Flat point gas check bullets. This way I'll be able to get a twist suitable for the heavier bullet better than the 1-16" twist of the Hornet. This will also give me the ability to shoot 52 gr. Jacketed bullets. I've thought about this long and hard and I really do want to Try the mashburn bee. Maybe you'd sell me your mashburn bee or swap it for a CZ 527 that needs a barrel?
