You are right, Kenbro- if that 4'x8' buffalo was only 100 meters, I should have quit and maybe taken up knitting.

tks- I "fixed' it.

When A guy needs help, you need a younger guy or two.

Call some old guy 8 o'clock in the evening and ask him to drive 20 miles

to help drag a deer and see what response you get.

I'll get a lot more out of it than playing cards at the seniors.

$150 per year. I do have to question any club that would have me as a member. Cheap I think. 200 members.

Kenny,
If you are wanting to make friends with the younger generation, sadly, I have to say that you are going to have to hang around the phone provider stores. I think that is where all of the younger guys are. I don't think that most of them are very likely to be doing much, if any shooting, and "I'm not just saying" here. You can hold me responsible for the statement as having come from me.

My name is Danny, and I approve this posting.

I video recorded all of my Highpower Rifle matches. Pretty soon I am going to watch them all in reverse order so that I can watch those F Class guys GO HOME and leave us alone so that we can shoot Highpower Rifle.

I'm 31 and I guess it depends on how young you are trying to go to make friends. I grew up on a small farm and all me and my friends did was work the farm and get side jobs to pay for ammo so we could shoot as much as we could. When I left for college the neighbors all called our parents to see if we were okay. They were worried, now every Sunday afternoon didn't sound like a war zone. I think there are plenty of young people that love to shoot. I was blessed to live somewhere that I could do that. Some aren't and its a shame. Give our generation a chance. We aren't all bad I promise.

Back when I was still able to bow hunt and walk, we had at least a dozen guys

on call, day or night.

Finding two or three to help was easy. Kenny

I served for well over 15 years as secretary, president and vice president at our local club. At the point where I joined in '79, when I got sick of getting kicked out of local gravel pits, there were about 79 members of record, and membership increased into the 400+ range when I left office. Between '79 and '96, I invested a whole lot of blood sweat, tears and volunteer hours into that club, and at this point in time doubt if there are more than a handful of members who would even recognize my name. In the meantime, they gave honorary life memberships to around 15 or so people -- I was passed over.

Bitter? No. Just a victim of politics

Danny, sorry to hear how things are in your' neck of the woods. The younger set in our County is largely polite, informed and used to hard work. More than willing to lend a hand for no more than a thank you. Offer them some trigger time and you may not be able to get rid of them. Sure, there's a few stinkers in the crowd, just like we had in my generation. They tend not to stick around, nothing much here for the lazy. Google Sherman County, Oregon if you want a location. As for the next generations' fascination with cell phones and technology, we are Blessed with poor cell service here, as well! Don't take that to mean we are backwards, though. My two boys are headed to State competition in robotics. At twelve and thirteen, they can run a tractor, feed and work livestock, shoot what needs shot, sling paint, dig a hole or whatever else needs doing. I am proud of them both, but they are not 'exceptional'. They are the norm around here. Good thing, too. Beings as they are our future.

On Edit: I see you edited your post to work on grammar and spelling. That's one thing I will have to hope my boys do better on than I ever have!!!

I sent my two traineeee deer hunters in where we didn't have permission

to find the deer. In about 10 minutes they come out and asked,

We found blood, what do you want us to do.

I gave them a roll of red tape.

I said, follow that blood till you find a dead deer. Take a bunch of pictures
as this may be all we get.

and flag your way out and they did.

The pictures all had part of the rack missing and one in particular I

specifically requested.

A hero shot of the shooter had his head cut off.

What makes these kids think every deer we see, It's their shot, never mine.

They know I am soft. Kenny

Kenny:

By the age you are now, you should pride yourself in
the teaching instead of shooting. You should have shot
your quota by now anyway.

(yes, I feel the same way at times too)

Cheers!!

Just got a text from an Army buddy in Apple Valley, La. they got 6 wt's and a small pig
last week.

Check out: Pueblo West Sportsman Assn, Range, around 18 ranges: up to 600 yds now, 8 or so pistol pits, 40 acre archery trail
range, plus the target range. Most are covered with slabs now.

If there is a shot,I always let them shoot.

I get a lot more good out of them getting a deer than me.

These boys are more important to me than I to them.

I can't walk much and I need at least one of them.

A flat tire, a mile from the truck is serious if you cant walk. Kenny
