trouble with .17fb
hi ,
i have been having trould with .17fb R-P brass , i had three brand new case's suffer case head separation, is there a bad batch thanks |

I should have elaborated, when you load your ammo do you FL size, and if you do how much are you pushing the shoulders back? When I has my first 17M4 I did just that, and it did just what you are describing. Especially with hot loads. Adam

new case's
its new brass. full lenght sized for first firing,
30 gr berger ,h322 17.5gr and fed 205 primer, head space is on short side( bolt just closes on go guage) and it only been 3 case lost out of 35 and one with only 16.4gr of h322 no pressure signes hope this shed some light on my problem that for reply guys |

Just because the head space of the rifle is correct doesn't mean the headspace on your brass is correct. Check how much head space your sized brass has when it is chambered. Larry

One could consider using the false shoulder approach. Expand the neck up a ways, and use the sizing die for a crush fit in the particular rifle for the initial fireform..
