Yeah, I wonder if anyone sectioned that one?

Anyway, I ran the numbers through the MPM twist calculator on JBM.com and came out with some interesting data. The 74gr (not an actual 75gr) TMJ as loaded is 0.909"long, 0.86 caliber boat tail diamerer 0.207 caliber boat tail diameter, 0.30 caliber metplat, 2.11 caliber nose length, and is more stable than a 69gr Sierra HPBT out of a 1 in 12" twist by calculations, although it is only recommended for faster twist barrels than 1 in 9".

The ammunition is $9.99/box for loaded .223 Rem 74gr American Eagle going about 2700fps from a 20" barrel.

It is the same bullet structurally as the 75gr softpoint, but it is not 0.926" long, but 0.909" instead making the metplat larger.

So at $9.99/box + tax per 20 I think I'm tempted to just try them and see what happens. They group inside an inch for the guy whose video link I posted up at the top of this thread and he uses only 1 in 9" twist barrels. It might just work. I might just file the tip back & expose the lead tip.
