Default 17 VHA shell holder ?

I ordered one, way back, from McPhearson and another I had Lee products turn for me. If you call Lee, the shell holder I have from them is marked "15" . Bill K

Bill:
I have the #15 but it's a little too snug to fit the 4.6X30 case. Lee doesn't list one for that case so it's a special order thing. You would think that someone/somewhere should have/make one? We use it for the 17 VHA but in fact, it is a machine gun/pistol round and pretty popular but maybe not here?
I've been looking but no luck yet. Mic McPherson had them but I've lost his contact info. Got dies from him also but it's been a while. I have a couple of "press" shell holders from Lee with no #s on them for the 5.7X28 brass but it will not fit the 4.6X30. Close but no cigar. And one that I got had some machine marks so it wasn't a drop in fit. Had tio me modified for a proper fit.
Patience IS a virtue. And thanks for your offer of the loan. I WILL keep it in mind if something doesn't work out. Again, Thank You, Mike.

Update:
Just found the addy for Mic. Sent him a note so we'll see what happens.

Default 4.6x30 shell holder

Use CH4D, just get both #463, the full flat base and one with the priming hole in it, they made bothof mine, and they fit the DAG brass perfectly.

Now we have three source's. CH4D, just might be the best one, as it is showing a shell holder for the case. And my #15, Mike, does also fit snug, but it works as the one I obtained from McPherson does. Just might get a third one, from CH4D for a even better fit. Bill K

Mike:
Never messed with the 4.6 cases I got last year yet.
Might be another hassle to work thru.

For the 5.7 I used a RCBS #45 or 46, think it's 45.

At first I got two for the press and turned the bottom rings off
to fit the Lee hand primer tool. Doing that is much easier with
a lathe, I just happen to have one that's made life much easier.

What's foxhunter say on this??? BOB?????

I just ordered the #463 and #463X -- the fellow at CH4D said the X holder had a solid bottom to help support the case bottom when FL sizing. I've made stuff work for me but as I'm getting older I find my handiness with tools and making modifications is way less then artwork.

A press shell holder can be modified to work in an Auto Prime. Just grind the bottom part off. Works for my .17 CCM.

Yes and believe it not I've actually used a Redding #34 for the loading press and another that I cut the lug off the bottom and opened the hole up so it will work in my Lee auto-prime for my 17VHA. I wanted to get a pair of shell holders that were actually designed to work with the 4.6X30 cartridge and CH4D makes them as "17tbs" showed in that link in his post. I also load stuff in the 5.7X28 cartridge and I want correct shell holders in both die set boxes -- the 17VHA box and the 5.7X28 box.

Touch pricey, doubt I'll get one for that cost.
Cheaper to donate the brass I got.
Get along fine with the 5.7 cases and have nearly 5000 of those
besides these few hundred I likely won't use anytime soon.
