Default 20-250 load work up

Hey there guys.
I have just got my rem 700 re-barreled to 20-250 11 twist Krieger #5, krg xray stock to shoot 40 grn projectiles, all groups were shot at 200 yards.
I am having trouble getting consistency with group sizes.
I have shot the odd group around 1 inch but a lot more around 3 or 4 inches.
Bedding should be good as the xray is said to have a v-block bedding system that does not require any bedding.
I have been shooting 40 grain nosler balistic tips at .02 off touching and have so far tried AR2209 (H4350) and AR2208 (varget).
I was told to try a faster powder and was thinking AR2206H (H4895).
Could anyone suggest a starting load with AR2206H (H4895) please ?
And any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks

You might give the 39 grain bullet, i.e. Sierra's BK at go. Many 20 cal shooters have found the 40 will not work well, with the 1/11 twist, but a 39 grain does. Just a thought. Bill k

I'm using a 11 twist bartlien on a tikka t3 and I'm also shooting a 40grain bullet. I started out trying imr4350 and got some good groups but the speed wasn't there. I switched to vv550 and everything came together nicely with speed and better groups. There is some nice reference material provided by a member on his website, I think it's called coyote stuff.com.

Thanks for the help and suggestions so far.
I've also read the coyote stuff but unfortunately down here in Australia we don't get VV powder any more.
I might try the powder change I spoke about before and try some different projectiles (39grn BK) and see what happens next.

Varget worked best with my rifle. I made a second, faster twist barrel for the 55 gr Berger that is still unfired.
The 20 BRX I had made prior seemed a better idea in retrospect , it was much easier to get to shoot accurately.

Your 11T is just fine for 40gr bullets. Its the 12T's that have problems with them. This data is from quickload. I haven't shot 40's in mine so proceed with caution. IMR4895 looks like its gonna get more speed. Don't know if you can get that there though.

Wow I wish I had quickload, it looks awesome.
I am getting the velocity I want with AR2208 (Varget) but I am struggling to get it to group.
Might stick with 2208 for now and change projectiles first.
I wonder if W748 would be too fast ?
It has a 26 inch barrel so maybe I can get a bit moreout of the 2206H ?
Really frustrating.
I have access to all ADI powders and some relaoder powders as well, any recommendations ?

RL15 is similar in burn rate to Varget. I'd try that one.

8208, AA2520, are other powders to think about.
