Genco 17 cal bullets?
Did Chappie Gennette quit making 17 caliber bullets? I wanted to order some of the 22.5 bullets and thought I would give him a call. I thought I read here somewhere that he sold his dies to another bullet maker. Thanks! Mark

They are still listed on the web site, but then that probably doesn't mean anything. The selection has changed, so could be he is still making them. Larry

Chappie did quit making bullets and went back to shotgunning. He sold his dies and equipment to Reed's in Oklahoma.
I expressed my dissappoint to him the last time I seen him. They were my favorite Coyote bullet. K22 |

Reeds
Well, Mr. Reed is a board sponsor here too. Maybe contact Mr. Reed for a new batch? Or try Mr. Nagel. He builds fantastic coyote bullets too.

Years ago I built a 17 Rem on a ruger #1 with a Shilen 1-10 barrel.Using 22.5 gr. lead tip hollow point builts it was capable of shooting 5 shot groups with all bullets touching @ 100yds.It was a gophers worst night mare.I also shot truck loads of coyotes with that rifle but with good old Hornady 25 gr hp.
The 22.5 gr lead tip hollow points must have been a bugger to make, they looked really cool and shot great. Chris

I think all 17's must be a pain in @s to make. Most bullet makers I talk to really don't like to make them. I sure enjoy shooting them ! Mark
