I am jumping in because no one seems to be responding. In a 17HH CZ-527 varmint with a 20gr VMAX, I can achieve significantly higher velocities than the Hornady advertised velocity for the 20gr VMAX commercial load even with their "super performance" powders.

At 3730 fps using the 12.8gr load PUBLISHED on the Hodgdon load site, I get .75" groups and no sign of any copper (no blue patches with "wipe out" cleaner). Whether the "no copper" is due to a good barrel or the CFE formula of the powder, I don't really know.

All in all, I had planned to use N 120 in my 17HH but started with the CFE BLK because it was available and getting good reviews. I have been doing so well with the CFE BLK, I may never even try a second powder.

thanks and hope this helps.
