I am with several others, H4198 18.7 gr with 32's and 17.8 gr with 39's. I started out using Rem fireball brass but started forming from 223. I was also using CCI400's but switched over to Rem 7.5's. I am getting good groups and not going to change anything. Btw 3750 fps with 32's and 3500 with 39's in 24" barrel.

No I did not. At the time I was readying for a PD trip and did not take the time. Since this rifle is only used for PD's and has performed well on two trips I haven't seen the need to retest. However I've always wondered if 17.9 or 18.1 would have taken out the slight vertical in 18.0 g. The lower three loads in the original test were obviously well suited for the conditions that day and the tune would more than likely change slightly with condition changes.

My VarTarg loads are...
RL-7 18.0 gr CCI BR-4 Rem 221 brass 32 gr Z-max bullet 1.860 Speed 3519 fps ....... I might work up a faster load. It continually makes a ragged hole at 100 yd... haven't shot it further yet. My trip out West last June for Pdogs and Squirrels got side tracked by a Alaska Fishing Trip... that later got side tracked as well... just gotta get rid of these side tracks I guess. This is the most boring accurate rifle I've ever had.. Boringly Wonderful.

20VT Pacnor twist ?
Looking to rebarrel my CZ 527 . Going with a Pacnor super match …. Can’t make up my mind on a 11 or 12 twist ? Talked to Sierra tech and he says a 12 won’t shoot the 39’s . Others say it will. I will probably shoot 32’s primarily but a 39 would sure be hard on those big farm country Ghosh ! Does anyone on here have any experience with an 11 twist and the 32’s ?
This is proving to be a tougher decision than I thought 😜 |

Most 1/12 twist will shoot the 39 grain bullet fine, but 40 and above no.
Overall your best bet is the 1/11 twist in the 20VT, which is what, I believe, 90% of the shooters have found to be best. Also an near max load of AA2200 powder works very well in the 20VT. |

I would definitely go 11 twist. There's just no downside to an 11tw barrel and there could be if you go with a 12tw.

Another vote for the 11T in that VT. It just makes sense.
