Very Sweet, both of em! I'm a sucker for light colored stocks but any Sako in Triple Duce would be on my dream rifle list since I first read about em in "Sports Afield" and "Field and Stream" magazines as a kid....I ain't been a kid for a real long time and still I want one .

Christmas
Doug,
I'm sure that Santa still has time to locate one. He could swing by Finland on his way to your house! |

Many Sako fans (I'm one) believe that the L-series and A-series models were the best ever made by Sako. The L461 and A1 Vixens (.222 class) were exquisite rifles. To many, the more recent 75s and 85s suffer in comparison. I have a pair of A1 6 PPCs.

The only problem I've seen with an older Sako rifle is when the recoil pads like the ones shown become very hard and brittle due to time. It's fairly common.
It's not factory, but this is what can be/was done with an older Sako L61R in 264 Win Mag (that by definition needed some cushioning ) that I own. The once-soft recoil pad on it had become the consistency of cheap plastic. Actually the rifle is and always has been a very pleasant shooting rifle. -BCB

Sure wish I could post a picture of my L61 7mmag.
Beautiful stock on it. Nothing like the plain one you have there BCB. I'm trying to pawn it off on Rider but, he keeps hesitating, ha! LOP was a bit short, I had a 1/2" pad extension added so it fit be better. I need a 14 1/4" lop. Think this had a 13 1/2 or 3/4". So far I've never had a ring eye and don't intend to. Crawling up on this was just too close it felt like.

rider,
Beautiful Sako. I love the light colored deluxe stocks. I have had a bunch in my lifetime but never a 222. Great catch, congratulations. Jim D SE Texas
