.17 case trimmer
Hey Guys,
I'm checking in to see what trimmers you are recomending for .17 cases. I have both an old style and new style Guirad, but do not have a .17 Fireball case holder yet. I do have an LE Wilson and just got the the case holder for the fireball but im learning that the small neck diameter of the .17 is too small and does not do a good job. This is my favorite trimmer for accuracy. I have trimmed lots of .20 and 22 caliber necks and can't ask for anything better, just now playing with 17's. and not haveing much luck. Any info would be great. Thank you. |

Is the cutter for the Wilson a 17 caliber? I use mine for 17 Rem, 17 Fireball and 17 Hornet not any problems.

The cutters currently offered by L. E. Wilson are advertised .17" - .45". I own an older trimmer whose cutter would trim .22" and above. Back in the day they offered a separate cutter for .17" and over; it would not trim .14" cases.

I use the Hornady model with the drill attachment and made my own .17 cal pilot. Works just fine.
