Nice!!! Looking out the window at the "melting" snow eating my breakfast and enjoying!! Where did you send the Weaver for custom reticle? I have many V-16's and would like some options. Thanks I found a place called Ironsights?? Cost is reasonable, $95, wait is not 12-18 MONTHS

I'm not sure as I actually bought the scope used from a member here. He said the dots were calibrated for 22-250/204 ruger (which no doubt they are).

They just so happen to work out perfectly for the .22 WMR with the ammo i'm using

This rifle shot really well with the factory 20" pencil barrel from Ruger. I just wanted to "gussy it up" a bit.

It does shoot more consistent now and groups better with certain ammo. It cleans nice and shoots all .22WMR ammo that I've tried really well.
Just curious about the "match" chamber in your .22WMR. I didn't know there was a match chamber for this round. Can you describe it? I assume that it's tighter than the ordinary chamber, but are there other differences too?

One other question: What are "squeaks"? Ground squirrels?

You'd have to talk with Green Mountain about their "Match Chamber" specs. I believe the throat is shorter to "engrave" the bullets and lead is a different angle from the standard reamer. PTG sells "match 22 WMR reamers" so it must be a "thing". They do say that a loaded round might not eject, I'm assuming due to tighter tollerances. Might be "Voodoo" Bologna...........but, this barrel sure is a shooter in any event.

As far as "squeaks"..............yep, that's what I call the "Beldings ground squirrel" around these parts.

We also have "Columbian Ground Squirrels" that come in out April in the mountains...........we call them "Red Diggers"........."Diggers" for short. Can't wait for them to come out, my favorite target.

Thanks for that info. I went to the PTG website and saw the match reamer. I have a .22WMR build just beginning and may order up this reamer for it.

Here in British Columbia, I've only seen the Columbian species of ground squirrels.

It looks like yesterday was a great day. Today at your place most likely looks a little bit less profitable however, Austin.

It's a fun day with rim fires just about any day that you can get out and about..........

Thanks Hal.
Yesterday did turn out pretty great. Despite my wind blown face, it was well worth it.

Today took a turn for the worse, and for once the weather guessers were right. We ended up with around 4 inches of wet snow today at our place.

I'd venture to say that the field I was shooting in yesterday still had plenty of squeaks running around in the snow today. I'll let them live until conditions are a bit more favorable for me
