If it was designed for the 218 Bee then it was designed for a tubular magazine lever action. Would think there are many better bullets out there for the 222 Rem. Just sayin'!

The 45gr HP/Bee bullet does not work in the 222 unless your looking for a slow load. Even pushed at the lowest book listed load for a 45gr bullet in the 222 the Bee bullet is iffy. It is explosive on contact with anything. And if pushed fast if will go poof on you. I had a few stay together at the listed midrange loads but they has no accuracy.
So the 45gr Bee bullets are now being used up in the Hornet with no ideas of replacing them as I do not own a real Bee. Why did I try? I got them in a trade and had to try them, you know how it is...

Any good 45-50 grain hp, ballistic tip, or soft point bullet will serve you well.

I made up some Hornet level loads with them, primarily so I could tell by touch what the load was, even if I wasn't looking at it while loading. A while back.

If you are trying to find a bullet to shoot, you owe it to yourself to try some 50 grain Z-max bullets. Amazing accuracy and equally impressive price. I get them from Cabelas (on sale) and Powder Valley for less than $60 per 500. Any time I order anything else I pile on a couple boxes for stock.

I like Midways Dogtown's. 500 for under 60 dollars. They shoot well out of my 222. And get eaten up pretty fast when the grand baby shoots my AR.
They come in 50 or 55 grains. They are on sale now.

Well not that bullet but used another one made for Hornet velocity. Yeas ago I loaded the Speer 40gr Spire point with RL-7 to ~ 3700ish fps in my old 222 for competing on paper for score or ringing steel plates at the local turkey shoots. For that it worked well. Tried using that load on woodchucks and it was a total disaster. Skin splashes or total explosions on a few blades of grass resulted in all but one getting away. That load was retired for hunting after that day and went back to 52 or 53 gr Sierra BR bullets and H335 for everything. Think I used the rest of the Speers for case forming. This was pre plastic tip days. Just as a side note I think a box of bullets (the old green paper boxes) was about $4 or $5 then.
