**Savage 20 Vartarg **
Brand New with only 10rds thru the tube. I have waited for 8mths for this puppy to get in, finally Fred Moreo called me the other day and said bring the rest of it up, you barrel is in. Jumped in the car drove 3hrs North and met him and chatted up a storm and got the barrel installed. Nice guy that man is. The gun itself has a Stockade Stock (Elk Stalker), a Savage PTA .223 head, Super Sniper 16x, right now I am working the loads up, got the CED Chrony out today but alass to windy, so I sighted in some what. Keep you'all upto date as it progress'.

Very nice looking rig!
I'm looking at doing a Savage build for a whitetail rifle this year...How do you like the Stockade stock? I'd be interested in knowing how you have the action bedded in it, and how happy you are with your cheek weld and line of sight with the scope (looks like it would be pretty good)??? What brand / twist of barrel did you go with? Also curious if you had Fred true & time your action at all, or if you just left it as-is...I've heard those Savage target actions don't really need much if any work. If Fred's 8 months out, looks like I better get crackin! |
