Reed's Ammunition & Research, LLC
Reed's sent me a sample of their new 17 caliber bullets, weighing in at 17.2 grains. The bullets were a nicely shaped lead soft point projectile. I have shot the sample up and wanted to report my findings:
Test firing of Reed's 17.2 grain soft-point, consider VV-130 powder 15.0 grains of VV-130 mild 15.5 grains of VV-130 3,765 fps 16.0 grains of VV-130 3,897 16.3 grains of VV-130 3,911 16.5 grains of VV-130 AL error 16.7 grains of VV-130 AL error 16.8 grains of VV-130 4,026 16.9 grains of VV-130 4,127 ??? 17.0 grains of VV-130 4,085 17.1 grains of VV-130 4,100 17.2 grains of VV-130 4,141 17.3 grains of VV-130 4,171 17.4 grains of VV-130 4,198 try this for working load 17.5 grains of VV-130 4,265 17.6 grains of VV-130 4,275 No surprises, so if you are looking for lighter 17 caliber bullets give them a try. There are suppose to be 14 grain bullets in the works too. I sure hope so as I/we need the choice of lighter weight bullets. I have no affiliation with Reed's but they are very polite, professional, and a joy to work with. Give them a call and befriend them. John |

Thanks for the report John.
The others are a 15g HP the 14g's just did not have enough meat for good shooting. We also have a little 20g SP as well.
