What do you guys think about the new 392s? As good as the old ones? I've got a good springer for pest control , but sometimes don't need all that power.

Hard to scope, quality hit and miss on the newer ones but a real classic. A bit less power are some of the single pump pneumatics on the market today.

I have a 397 that’s about 20 yrs old. Hardly ever use it anymore favoring my two Benji Maxius PCPs. One in 177, the other 22. I’ve given up on springers as they would never give me the first shot consistently I wanted. Both of the entry level PCPs give me 1/4” groups at 30 yards with WM cheapie pellets. At 61 and in a manager position I needed a way to get some exercise so the Pretty One approved the purchase of the rifle/handpump combo as cardio-vascular exercise equipment. Both wear BSA Sweet 22 3-9 scopes.

For shooting squirrel crow my springer does good enough. It's just to powerful for most pest control. I live in town need something like the 392 power when I need 3 pumps when I don't. Know what I mean ?

fat cat, another consideration might be the Beeman R7. It's been my go to backyard air rifle for many years. Super accurate, two stage adjustable trigger, 18# cocking pressure, and probably the quietest of the springers. Mine is in 20 caliber. As long as the distance isn't over around 20-25 yds max it does a nice job on pests. Doesn't have a lot power, but adequate for most close in jobs. My average is 15-17 yd shots. 410gauge

Ok thanks 410 I'll look at that one . Maybe I'm wanting to go back to my younger days . The reason for the 392. If they still made the blue streak I'd by one today!

Still have my Blue Streak, also back from the mid '70's, and no it is not for sale. Gorgeous oil finished black walnut stock. It helped to eradicate a bunch of chipmunks that were chewing/tearing up my pool cover. Don't have the pool anymore, but it was fun getting rid of the chipmunks.

Also have a CZ 631 break action which has a great trigger, darn near as good as a Jewell.

Find yourself an older model Blue Streak and send it to Mac1 Airguns for the Steriod package. Then get ready for a ton of low cost fun.
