I'm with you Matt; and while I have plenty on hand myself (mostly because I don't shoot as much these days) jacking prices for the masses who struggle buying stuff is close to stealing IMO. Lets hope it doesn't change from bullets, primers and power to milk and bread.

We know those who get their gifts now won't be getting any later.

Just got my 3rd email from a dealer reminding me that the rifle I've long been looking for is still there: fair price, nib, hard to find and usually snatched up. Am going to have to pass. Why? Hoarders and panic buyers have snatched up every bit of factory ammo; brass, primers, powder and even dies where I checked were out of stock or with a long wait list.
About time shooters see this for what is: a "shortage" created by those who stand to profit by it: pandering Tea Bag wing-nut politicians and their corporate sponsors, gougers/hoarders, and (yes) the NRA.
Guess I can re-chamber/re-barrel a little-used rifle I already have, thereby giving a few dollars less to those in the industry and the politicians who are screwing me over as a worker, taxpayer and voter while I deal with the shortages.

I now have my 17HH, I bought at reasonable price, below MSSR, and now they are on Gunbroker ,for a little over $600. I wouldn't pay the inflated prices for Cz some as high as $900, and a bunch $750 up by gougers. This is what happens to prices when products are available, and gougers can't make a BIG BIG profit. I know people are looking for 17HH ammo and dies, and what is available is way to high. I bought ammo, $16.99 abox, and dies really cheap when they first became available back at the first of the year and now have finally a rifle. Sure shoots the cheaper ammo good, half inch groups. weewilly

It is definitely frustrating. I have everything I need for the year, but always have a new project in the works or trying to tweak some other load; and it sucks to never have random components around. Primarily stuff I would have never imagined needing before the craziness.
With all this happening I've found a few companies and places I wont do business with forever because of the way they handled this situation. People make exscuses but I dont become a dishonest man because the times are tuff, I dont expect a company to change their morals either. just my 2 cents.

As much as I dislike outfits gouging, it would end pretty quick if knuckleheads would stop paying those prices. I do understand that a guy can get caught with his pants down. However, I think there are a bunch of shoppers out there with more money than brains. Personally, I would like to have more money but, I can't afford to be dumber, LOL.

Ramos. Like anything, if no one pays the price asked, it will come down or the seller just has to hold on to the item, no matter what it is. Supply and demand. Even those with lots of money, should use a little more common sense, at times. Bill K

Just so my comments don't get extrapolated to the Nth degree, I have not bought a single round of ammo or a single reloading component since long before all of this craziness set in.

Still, we are a capitalistic society which does indeed operated on a supply and demand curve, and sometimes that does not mean the best opportunities for those who are needing something in short supply, for whatever reasons.

As a result, living in a capitalistic society requires some forward planning at times. Basic Introductory Econ. 301F.

Matt
Bid on one box is at $40.00 with a BIN @ $80 ($1.60/rd) and 5 lbs shipping UPS. Probably comes out to $2.00 a round. I wish I had a couple thousand rds.
