Obviously, me too, Jim......

A few more of these revelations and I'm going to start to feel insecure about what I've done wrong all of these years.

I have LOTS of R-P .221 FB brass that will get used for sure. The gun has shown excellent accuracy so far having just put it together and breaking the barrel in. It will be fun to try the Lapua brass too

Default Sometime in the late 90s....

... there was a scare that Remington was going to drop the 221 FB brass. I was having a major affair with the 17M4 and envisioned shooting thousands of rounds at prairie dogs, so I bought something like 8k pieces of brass.

Been great in the 17M4s and my 20VTs. I will admit, however, having gotten some of Adam Bentley's 223 derived brass for the 20VT.

No .300 Blackouts in my future Matt but knowing the level you aspire to in your projects I understand your excitement. Anyone that makes Barrels out of truck axles deserves the best in components!!

(Fond Memory there, I believe that one's name Tiny isn't it? Sorry, I digress).
Back to the topic, I also will buy some of this Matt as I have both a .17 Fireball and a .20 VarTarg that shoot well enough to be worthy of this level brass. Not surprisingly both were done by Greg Tannel ("go figure").
Like some other guys I too prefer Lapua over the Norma brass. IMO Norma brass is really good and Lapua brass is just a titch above it. Pick'n nits I know but it gives a guy something to do in his dotage "Wink Wink"! Much as I like smuckin rodents I confess to enjoying paper punching near as much.

Default Thanks Doug...

You are right thats "Tiny" she's a .20BR with a 1.7" "J" action
the barrel is a petite 1.6" she has accounted for a few pd's past 500yds with
Sierra's tiny little 39BK.
Remington makes some good brass, but also I've seen some not so good,I
have a Rem 700 17Mach1V that has a chamber a "titch" too big and am thinking
that the strong Lapua brass may help this situation. My Cooper 20VT just deserves the good stuff.

Matt could you tell me who made the bench in the picture. I was trying to describe it to a friend but couldn't remember its name.

If I'm not mistaken that is one of these two Coopers with customer supplied English Walnut. That is Ric N. on the left and Dan C. on the right. These were taken as was the one of Tiny, at the 2nd Saubier.com P-Dog hunt back in about 2004 as memory serves. Lotta nice toys and great guys at that get-together. Devils Tower Wyoming at "Whitetail Creek Outfitters" was the location and I think those benches were made right near there.

Still have both the Cooper 20VT and the Knothole Design Bench; great field toys! Used both just that one time at the PD Shoot enjoying them very much....Thanks for posting the photos Doug, I had lost all mine from this trip when my PC crashed awhile back and no backup!
