That is 100% correct George. These fires can ripe a person out very fast. Some of the fires last year, and even this year and one's north of us, Adin, Canby area have lost homes and out buildings.
So, yes we were fortunate and these fire fighters, state, fed and prison crews have and are working their butts off keeping people as safe as they can, and saving property and working to stop these fires and contain them.
Everyone should wish and help them anyway they can to do their jobs, for sure and give them all a large Thank you, along with their paychecks and not complain. Bill K

I'm glad that you were able to get back home, Bill. Stay safe and keep us posted when you can.

Bill:

Very right there.

Still sounds mighty spooky to have fires on
three sides of the area.

Hope the wind don't blow the wrong way.

Bill. Stay alert for the rest of the summer, there will be burning stumps where the fire has gone underground and is waiting for the right wind and conditions to start a new blaze. So very glad that you were not damaged.

We do Lowell. Just yesterday afternoon a fast thunder storm came in and with dry lighting, set off a few more small fires in the surrounding area, but crews are on them and holding or stopping them.
But even when these fires are contained or OUT, they keep a crew around for a few days watching for smolder flare ups and all. Bill K

My area and village area are pretty secure and safe, as of now, Hog fire is 58 % contained, so feel we will be just fine.
However now the Gold fire and another one in the Canby area, north of us, is going blue blazes and causing a lot of issues in those areas and north to the Oregon line, with evacuations and homes in danger. Hope they can come out as well as we did here in Lake Forest Estates. Bill K

Bill, glad you are safe and still have a home. I have fought a few fires and they could be tricky, as mentioned stumps burning underground. Have they cleared a fire line around your community? It is a good idea if possible, much easier to defend homes and people from fire. All the best!
Bill
