Default Wilson threaded f.l. bushing dies

Been looking for an opportunity to use one of Wilson's threaded f.l. bushing dies. Got this one for a new 22BR project and am impressed. Sizing cases for my other 22BR, it's spot on with the Redding f.l. bushing die used on that chamber. In other words...if you've got a 'Lapua' BR chamber, this one works. It gets after the back end nicely as well as the shoulder/body junction.

Workmanship on a nice stainless die like is crazy good for the price and it comes with an extra decapping stem!

For what it's worth. -Al

The Wilson equipment is top notch for sure.
However, the believe the die body length may be short. Two friends of mine, brothers, one built a 6 Dasher and the other a 22BR. Both ordered Wilson FL bushing dies. They have a Lee single stage press and a couple of Dillon presses. They could not get the Wilson dies to work with any of the three. Sent them back and went with Redding, these worked fine in the Dillon.

Just wanted to make folks aware of this. Puts the damper on projects when you wait for gear, it shows up and doesn’t work as planned.

Having multiple Harrel's (4) and Redding (3) f.l. bushing dies for the BR case to compare the Wilson to, I can't find any body length (case-head-to-shoulder) length issues with this Wilson I have.

For what it's worth... -Al

As in, the die will not thread in far enough to contact the shell-holder/ram?RG

Yes sir, that was the issue.
The two mentioned gents have a 550 and a 750, along with a Lee single stage. To get the die to work they had to put the lock nut on the bottom side.
I have no issue with my RC presses.

Would a extended shell holder aid in the problem ram reaching the die bottom. Might be something to look at.

An extended shell holder is needed on some presses. One of mine needs it, the other doesn't. -Al
