Default Savage Mdl 11 Barrel

Looking for advice, looking to screw a Savage barrel on for a friend, This would be a Savage Mdl 11 22-250 sporter 24" blued barrel.

Who do you recommend or have experience with? And of course most people seem to be out of stock, big surprise

Thanks,
Stan

Very easy to do yourself. I think you can rent the wrench, headspace gauge and action wrench from 4D rentals.

Somebody in your area must have a barrel nut wrench and even some go/no go gauges you could borrow ( you don't need a action wrench) but you do need a good barrel vise.
If none are available in your area, they are not that expensive to buy, as you will probably use them again on other barrel switches.

I think Stan has tools and knows how to use them. I think he's looking for a barrel. LOL

Criterion has a good reputation. Thats what my bud put on Hunter's Axis in 204. You've seen it scramble eggs at 300.

Don't under estimate the Shaw barrels from E.R. Brown. Last I saw they had them in 204R.

If you are looking for a barrel, Northland shooters supply is very reputable.

Charlie,
You are correct, just thought someone may have had a good experience like you have mentioned.

I was a little surprised to see how many suppliers are out of stock, I realize the times we’re living in but I didn’t think people hoard barrels

Thanks for the suggestions guys,
Stan

I agree, don't believe many are hoarding barrels, but look at how many are building rifles and want barrels, so the companies are just behind or trying to keep up building them..

There is a guy on GB that calls himself the Urbanrifleman, who seems to have barrels on hand ready to go or would thread and chamber to order. He is using Wilson blanks for $249. Sorry, it looks like they are Remage barrels under a Savage search.
