Default TAC 20 Powder and Brass?

I am finally getting some loading time in and have discovered that I have reduced my lot of Tac 20 brass to scrap. Maybe about 1 in 10 primer pocket's remain tight. I already knew that my loads of 25 gr Reloader 10X moving a 39 Blitzking at 3840 +/- was to much for my el cheapo Rem brass. The only reason I kept loading them like that was my gun was super accurate with that load and I really liked the down range effect on varmint. All that being said I was wondering if someone has a few idea's on other powder's for the Tac 20. I have some CFE 223 to try, I made some test load's with my remaining AA2230 and plan I getting a keg of that for my 6x45, was also going to try some Benchmark. Any other idea's would be appreciated. Also going to try and find some IMI brass that would maybe hold up a bit better. I will also load down to acceptable speed and pressure in order to save my brass.

thank you
Gale Johnson

Default Benchmark

Where do you start at with a 39 BK, I saw some data that said 23.2 grains was a full power load.

A2520 does really well in the 20Tac with the 39 Sierra...27.0 to 27.2 and the Rem 7 1/2 primer.

I want to try that but I haven't seen any locally here for a long time, some showing up on the internet.

I am starting to use it in my other 20 cal cartridges...20 Blitz, 20 Practical...meters really well. I believe one of the "oldtimers" on here used the same load in his 20 Tac...think it was "Groundhogdevastation" if memory serves me.

Default Tac 20 powder and brass ?

Don't overlook H4198.. Kindler, in his Terrific Twenties, had some very fine results with that one. Bill K

Default H4198

I have been using H4198 with 32 gr VMax's . Kindler's book is great info, that's why I was using 10X. I shot several thousand rounds of 19-223 with AA2520 so I will give that a try if I can get my hands on some. H4895 works well in the 19-223 with heavier bullet's so maybe I should try that also.

My newest 20 TAC Rock Creek barrel really likes RL-10x and 39 Sierras. Ive used Vith N-130 and H4198 in a Lilja barrel with great results. All barrels have been 12 twist
