Fantastic looking project. Keep us informed along the way.
My last project was somewhat similar, Ruger No 3 with my own stock and a PacNor 3 groove in 20 Ackley Hornet. Can't wait to see your finished product. Best Larry |

Hey BS2,
I have your project's little brother! My 17 AH is on the "K" size FBW action, PacNor barrel & stocked with "take off" Colt-Sharps wood. I've had mine for about 10 years and have yet to work up a load for it! I will be following your project especially as you stock it and develop your loads. I have a "J" size chambered in 30'06 and another K size in 6X50R Mag, I really love the FBW actions. Good luck with your project, looks like you are off to a great start! Marcos (Elalto) |

I have had the action, barrel and reamer for about 6 years.[or more] Couldn't decide what to make out of it. Asked myself, what would I shoot the most?
It is such a simple action, wish I had bought more. Always thought the K would be a nice one also! |

Hey BS2,
Been thinking about your project and remembered something I thought I should make you aware of regarding the stock. If you do it yourself, or have someone else do it, the stock needs to be inleted into the action so that you can use it with a scope. If the stock is inleted normally the comb ends up perfect for a tang sight or open sights, care must be taken to line up the comb for a scope or you will never get a good or comfortable cheek weld. Please don't ask me how I know. Keep us informed of your progress. Marcos (elalto) |

Fitted an old pc of walnut. Bolted down and rough sawed with a 1/2" black pad. Getting closer. Last edited by BS2; 02-10-2017 at 10:26 PM. |
