Default 6PPC loads

I've owned my factory SAKO AI repeater 6PPC for last 12 years.
My pet loads are composed of Russian 220 brass fireformed, trimmed 1.5100", and CCIBR4's

Berger 62gr. flat base bullet, 27.2 H322 @ 3165 fps
Vmax 58gr., 27.7 H322 @ 3231 fps SD 15.55
Vmax 58gr., 8.7 TrailBoss @ 1900 fps (fun reduced load limited to 90 yards)

I have had my Sako PPC repeater since I brought it back from Europe in the 90's. I used to only shoot the Sierra 70 HPBT in it since that is what the factory Sako ammo was loaded with so I measured the factory round and just copied it. I got a jug of H322 back then (that was "the" powder) and used it exclusively for the PPC. In recent years I have been shooting the Nosler 70gr. BT with excellent results and also started shooting the Nostler 55 gr. BT for more speed and flatter trajectory with great results also. If you decide to try those bullets let me know and I can help with load specifics.

Started branching out with powders also. Tried Accurate 2200 (since I had some for other things ) and Vit 133. While I have some of the Sako brass I also use the Norma stuff and found it to work fine also. Found this one likes the Rem 7.5 primer so I use that exclusively.

28.2 N133 is a well known Benchrest load for accuracy, start load would be about 26.0 gr.

My own load with 6PPC USA is quite a bit above that, it seems that harder you drive the round the better it likes it.

Mine ( a full custom) loves 68gr FBHPs and 65 gr Vmax.

Default Off to a good start...

First 3 shot group at 100yds, 26 grs of N-133, 65 gr Vmax .005" off the lands came in at .369". I break my new barrels in cleaning after the first 5 shots everytime, then move to 3-5 shot groups followed by cleaning for the next 20-30 shots. The barrel normally tells the most...

Nevertheless, for cleaning after each of these shots, which I'm sure I had some residue left in there, not too bad. Eager to get out and shoot it some more.

Ps. Barrel felt very smooth and cleaned up nicely...

The PPC has some serious potential, the T3 Tikka is already there.

Default 6 PPC Load

I load for 3 Sako PPC's. Two prefer the 58 V-Max over IMR 8208. The third one prefers a 68 gr match flat base again over IMR 8208. H322 & AA2015 also work well, just not quite as pinpoint accurate as the 8208.

AA2200 with the Hornady 65gr. Vmax delivers 3300+ fps and shoots into the 3's in my sporter weight CZ 527 in 6mm AR(6mm Grendel) and delivers the same accuracy in my 6mm BR. That won't get you into the Benchrest Hall of Fame, but varmints in the field will never know that.
Accurate Powder has loading data for the 6PPC using the 65 gr. Vmax bullet.
