Default 5.7 MMJ and Lilgun

Finally loaded up some lilgun in my 5.7mmj.

Using some 30gr Calhoon bullets a friend got sent over to Australia I loaded up some rounds from 12.5 through to 14.2. Loads through 13.0- 13.6 show some real promise with 3 shots at 13.6 probably under half inch at 100m.

I see Garin Surestrike have up to 15gr to get 3800 fps. So far I have no tight bolt lift so will push them a little harder again. Showing much more potential than the 15gr of aussie 2207.

I loaded a few at 12.0gr with the 45 tsx and it shot a single hole pretty much .

I was using Russian muron primers the packet says 223small rifle magnum....seemed to work okay

Not sure if this link works cant see how to attach piccies

Sounds good and the link showing the target opened for me. Looking good, for some fine tuning and critter control. Bill K

Thanks Bill.

I was using the normal trigger and only a 7x scope so under half inch is pretty good. Think tickling them up around 14.5 to 14.8 ahould see them come back nice and tight.

Figured not much load data about for this little gem of a cartridge.

Will be keeping some 45tsx loads done in the ammo box. Good for a goat or piggy.

Suggest you try playing with the COAL. My bet is you can get them all in one hole just changing that variable. Nice shooting little gun just the way it is however.

Thanks Dean,

Yes a tweek of COAL each way may prove the winner. Going to test with a little more powder then may play with it but its rabbit and our large hopper head good enough here so hopefully take it out after some fur in the next few weeks over easter.

Johno,

BLK may work well too but looking at hodgon site will give up some velocity. Either way the lilgun is working just fine.

Ryan
