Fireball brass preferance?
Any particular 221 FB brass you prefer. Leaning towards Nosler or Lapua. At present time, I don't have time to do much prepping so I need the best to start with. Thanks,

The Lapua brass is definitely nice, may have to neck turn of making into a 20 VT or 17 FB or Mach 4. The Remington brass works well for me with no neck turning for my VT and Mach 4. I have had a handful of split necks with the Remington brass.

Lots of folks think the Remington brass is crap but I've never had issues with it. I load mid range all the time so no issues with primer pockets getting loose. You pick up what's available, when you can. Once fired is good to go also.
Nosler and Lapua are good but more $$. Better brass than Remington? You decide. |

Up here LApua is now the same price as Remington so I now buy Lapua for everything I shoot of they make it. Truly is superior brass and at $95/100 it is a far better deal than Rem or Winc at the same and sometimes even higher price than that. Norma is still out of my price range for brass at more than dopuble the price of Lapua.

Fireball brass preferance ?
Most of mine is resized and formed from LC brass. More work, but it does work very well. I also have Remington and Nosler, both of them seem to be just about equal, even if many put down Remington brass. If you do not push max or over max loads they all seem to work just fine and reloads are about the same, as to number of reloads before trimming, annealing is needed. Just depends on your time and what you want. Bill K

I am still using the first 60 pieces of Remington brass from factory loaded ammo when I purchased my 17 FB with no problems. Once brass became available as a component I purchased a box of 500 and it has also been good to go. If I was to lose all of that brass today, I would go with Lapua.

I find that the primer pockets with the rem brass do not last as long when working with hot loads.
