Not small caliber (but a learning lesson)
Sorry, but I have been knocking my head into a wall about this all evening. Hopefully someone can explain this to me and it may help others also when they are trying to develop a wildcat round.
On the 7.5 FK Brno website they compare the 7.5 FK to other rounds for killing. Using their formula and table, the math doesn't compute. They are using a 105gr monolithic bullet in that small case and getting I believe 1960fps. That long bullet has to be taking up most of the room in the case. So the speed confuses me. Rob Pincus discusses the attributes of the round and talks about the speed of the bullet causes disruption of body function (ie. hydrostatic shock), although ballistics has taught us that if hydrostatic shock does exist, bullet speed must be over 2000fps. Their chart shows that it is far superior to the 357mag and half again more killing power than a 44mag? That is on animals of 300lbs @ 100yds and dangerous game @ 50yds. Can anyone help a brother out? Qaz |

TCUs Herretts and many others have chambers throated long to gain powder capacity, light bullets seated just deep enough to keep straight and heavy bullets seated to the lands,

More smoke up your butt IF you believe that horse apples! That long and slow will just pencil thru unless there's a big HP, or face of soft lead. A 7.5mm isn't even 30 cal yet. I know nothing of the cartridge, sounds much like the 300 BO. You might read up on that one to better understand this one too.

Sorry, I don't have regular access to a computer, so I could get back to this quickly. But if you go to this page and scroll down you will see the comparison I speak of between the 7.5, 44mag and 357mag.
https://fkbrnous.com/fk-brno-ammo/ George- 7.5 is considered 30 caliber thanks for any help. Qaz |
