Default Contender stub?

Hi,
Anyone got one of Lowell’s contender stubs to sell?
Did anyone else manufacture these wonderful bits of kits after Eagle View ceased production?
Cheers,Ken.

Ken: Maybe it was Tubbs that did some work with them, along with his stubs on some other single shot/break action rifles.
Of even Bellm's tc.

He's on this site and moved to Wyo. I'm sure he'll answer when he sees this.

Ken:

good to see you back here.

Larry Trotter was into making these on whatever
barrels he could scrounge up. I sent him several I
had one time.

His only child/dau died and he dropped off. Don't
even answer his e'mail's for several years now.

Seems like Paul Rogers did too. Not sure what the
nevada reloader used for his gun making games.
Both those have dropped off too.

All three are sorely missed here.

Good Day to all, I am on here almost daily as I have been for many years. I feel like I know many of you as friends. Thank you all for your great stories and wonderful ideas. I tried to find machine shops that would make the stubs for us to keep the business going but most of them did not understand what they were working on or how to make them in a timely manner. We sold our CNC machines and moved to Wyoming a little over 2 years ago which was a wonderful idea except I now work in a 16x28 foot shop filled with the manual tools that I kept. I have some ides on how to make them in a different manner that will produce very fine stubs if I can master the process and it works like I think it will. But chances like this take resources to start and I have not dedicated anything toward that happing. We are just now starting to feel like we have finish moving except for the 10x20 foot storage room that we need to unpack and get rid of. Covid has not helped. I hope that we will be able to look at these ideas in the coming year and see which ones we can do easily here. I did go hunting this morning and limped into a herd of about 125 elk with some very fine bulls. This was in an area where only my son drew a tag. He shot at a very nice 6 point bull broadside but 200 yards further than he thought, so he missed . He is seven weeks out of a full hip replacement and I am head for one so we could do nothing more than check the area where the elk were and finding no blood or signs of the bull being hit limped back to the truck through 6 inches of crusted snow. So no I don't have any extra stubs or parts and I don't know of anyone that was willing to make them. Sorry.

There was a guy if my memory is correct that worked with Bellum many years ago. I can't remember his first name but his last name was White. He did the stubs.

Check with David here on the site. Not sure his last name or business name but he's a Smith. Don't know if he's been around much lately. He makes stubs for H&Rs, don't see why he wouldn't do contenders or encores. May be the guy QaZ was thinking of...

Strange deal this world we live in.

Here I am with a fine lathe and all the tooling.

yet back and legs hurt so much I can't stand

for long. So it's just out there in the cold shop

collecting dust.

Eagle, too bad you're not close enough to come

use it.

I can understand why you would stub a H&R because they never really had a large number of chamberings but between the contender and encore, they have a large number of chamberings. What is the benefit?

Qaz:

How many is: A large number?

Believe I have six and know there's several others.

17M2, HMR, 22lr, 22mag, 38/357, 45 Colt, 223, 410,

12ga, 20ga, 30/30, '06 plus some yet

For a $100-130 gun that's a fair assortment imo.
