Default 20cal dilemma

So I have a 20/222 already that I love, but as we alll know these 20 caps are addictive,so the dilemma is I have another blank 20 cal barrel and I have an old 600 Mohawk with 2 bolts (.223 and 308/ppc )so do I do another 20/222 or 20practical or 20ppc or 20br it will be mainly used as the other as a spotlighting rifle and a rifle to varmint a few bunnies so round count each year will be low 200 as I have the other 20/222 as well as a .223
Question what should I do I’ve got an itch for something that is going to do 4000fps
Help 😂

Default Sounds like....

20BR to me.Mine does shoot very well and it should have an accuracy node right around 4000 like you want with 40s.My suggestion is to make sure the reamer is for the NormaBR case of 1.560” you don’t want to be doing extra trimming if not needed.Greg built my 20 BR years ago and I have to trim the Lapua brass down to 1.520”.It is sure a nice round and has taken many pd’s past 500 yards without even breathing heavy

20 BR or variant with the 308 bolt and 20 Pract, 20VT or 20 SCC with the 223 bolt.

I built a 20" fat barrel 20-223 AI on a 660, which is the same action as a 600. Great fun. I have a spare 660 in 308 that may become a 20 BR some day........

Sir Jack I am going to nominate the 20 PPC.

I think they are that good I have two of them.28 grains of BM8208 will get 40`s to 4000fps.I have owned a 20 VT as well as a 20 BR.

I will have a 20 VT again but the 20 BR was a bit finicky to tune.

Russell at Group Solutions in Canberra has both reamers.

I like Matt’s idea, 20 BR.

Default Well the 20SCC is

An improved version of the 20VT.The SCC refers to the website Small Caliber Club which should have a bit of good info from what the builder and others have experienced with it and share about it.I still think a wildcat built on the 222 case
is something every 20 caliber guy needs,as well as something from the Fireball and the larger BR case family
20s are very addicting and no one can have just one

Matt, it will be on a 222 bolt face, because that is what I have.....a 204 is going to be first on the list. Greg is three years out, not taking orders. Kevin Weaver is at about 5 months or so out, so that's decent. Kevin and I chatted last evening about which 20/222 derivative to end up with, and still a bit undecided. I am thinking a 20/222AI with the .300 neck length shortened up (blown out) from the bottom side, to about .200. That would give a nice case capacity increase, while maintaining pretty much the original overall case length. Kevin said that was quite doable.

Along that line, he said an 11" twist would do a good job with 30 to 40 gr bullets. Anyone have any thoughts on all this so far?

I am reasonably sure that someone else has already done exactly this....but don't know what it might be labeled. And then I get to thinking, just neck down the standard 222 to 20, and that's it....so, any commentary you all might throw in will truly be appreciated.

Accuracy is my first consideration, and trajectory is a huge second requirement, then ease of finding dies, case forming etc...no neck turning!
Thanks,
Steve
