anyone shooting a sako 75
i have never owned one but they look kool. like the removable magazine and 5 round capacity.

Like all Sako's, this is a nice looking rifle.
I very much dislike detachable magazines. Due to eventual loss, and cost of them. Keep it all in one piece. How's the sunshine in the NM desert Bob? How's the lady of the house doing? I heard Elephant Butte will be down to between 5 & 12% of capacity. I'd bet that little water and the huge qty of big stripers that it would be a fantastic fishing hole this summer. 50-60lb stripers, blue and flathead catfish at least as big. Back in '89 Dad caught a blue cat of 39#. In '05 I saw some 50# stripers there. Sure wish my old boat was up n running I just might of made a trip down there.

doing fine george, thanks for asking. fished the butte a lot when i lived in las cruces. never cought the big one though.
what have you gentlemen found best for rings on the 75, not much info on them?

Did someone mention Sako 75?
Sweet shooting rifle, looked good, shot even better, fielded mine from 2006 till recently when I realized I hated the detachable magazine and sold the rifle even though it was a sub-half inch gun. All my small caliber shooting is at either ground squirrels or rock chucks. I do all this shooting single shot, no magazine ever. Feeding rounds into the Sako 75 with or without the mag installed was problematic (for me) at the bench, as I much prefer a solid bottom single shot arrangement a-la Cooper that can be fed quickly without fumbling about.  If Sako had made the 75V a standard magazine, or better yet, a single shot period, it would still reside in my safe. Great rifles, just not suited to my style of rat shooting. And to foxhunter, I used Leupold/Sako rings/mount; nice and low over the bore, solid too.

Having owned several still probably my favorite magazine fed hunting rifle. FWIW the 22PPC model while rare makes for a dandy 20 PPC repeater.

was the 22 ppc on the L or LLL action. looks like the 6ppc was on the lll action.
i have a set of leupold rings i will try.
