Default Sako L461 Weaver/Picatinny Base?

Anyone know of a Sako dovetail to weaver/picatinny base for using Burris Signature Zee rings on an L461 receiver?

Thanks,

Chuck

There are definitely Weaver bases that fit an L461. I have a set. I would assume that they fit a Signature Zee ring.

Just went downstairs and confirmed. Weaver base #66 and #67 fit the L461 and accepted my Signature Zee rings.

If the cross slots don't line up where you want them to it is an easy fix with hand tools or on the milling machine.

Question What scope are you wanting......

....to mount to the receiver?

There are better options......that will not damage the receiver.

Default sako weaver bases

They make good fishing weights. I think we all wonder what the dovetails look like under those bases.

Burris make an universal base, for a sako, I have one in my hand, part number. 410268, These are the Burris twist of release style,
have found that the return to zero resalable well, as long as one screw, is Loctited with good high strength Loctite, and not touched during removal and reinstall.

Default Picatinny/Weaver base for Signature Zee RINGS!

Not planning on installing Weaver rings. Want a picatinny base system to install Burris Signature Zee rings.

Am planning on using a NF scope to add weight (a pound more with steel rings) and check to see if there is reduced recoil of my H&R 317 L461 Sako action. It only weighs 5 1/2 lbs. Chambered in 17 AH and has recoil!

I do not use Weaver rings on any of my guns that will stay with me.

Thanks to the replies of those that understood my question.

Chuck

Default Kevin - Gunsmith

It was Steve Chernecky - developer of the 17 hmr for PMC. BTW he got pissed off because Hornady would not load it over 3550 fps. He wanted it to be a 3750 fps cartridge. He also developed the more recent 22 lr target cartridge for the Olympic team.

This version of the H&R 317 has the skinniest wood stock I have ever seen. I single load to avoid possible bullet upset. Can't remember if it is wearing a Shilen or PacNor. Wish I had not spent so much $ on this version of the 17 AH in the mid-90's. Will be trying the 20 gr V-max to see if I can improve the 0.5 MOA accuracy. Only used his loaded custom 19+ gr Hammond's prior to this.
