I took the Anschutz Hornet to the range today, after bore sighting it I shot the following group.
The first shot was the lower left shot, wound the scope right (obviously to far) the second shot was the lower right, wound it up and shot the upper right so wound it left.
My first shot was the lower shot of the seven shot group, and the last of the seven shots went through the first shot of the group at the top of the diamond.
I didn't think that was to bad for off my elbows.

To give some sense of scale the squares are 15mm

I was using factory PPU ammo and had hard extraction on each case, still quite happy with the group, might try some RWS next.

Hand loads and not off wobbly elbows and that little Hornet is going to be spectacular.

A good start indeed.

Yes, good work up with handloads and it should really place them into a tighter group.

I have heard others mention tight fit after firing that brand of ammo, they must load it on the hot side.

What was the range? If that was at 1000yards, I wouldn't change anything!

Lol I wish, the local range is only 100m and it's a 15min walk into the range.
I once carried a front rest and rear bag in but haven't done that again, which is why it's off elbows.

I do intend to handload for it which will require a rest and bag..........Kiwi

Kiwi: Is the range a club range and members only ? If so, as mine is, we have to medium size metal containers, that a couple of the members filled empty small shot bags with sand and keep in them for use.
I think there are about 10-15 bags in each container and that way those without bags can use them.
We did place a sign on the containers asking members to not take any home.
It works just fine. That might give you some bags to use on the bench and not have to carry in and out.

Default Hornet

If you haven’t tried pistol primers in your 22h, might make it even more accurate. They helped all three of my 22 h rifles.

It is an open range but only allowed to be used when a range officer is on duty, saturday afternoons only, but anyone can walk in at any time and no way of securing anything at the range...........Kiwi
