V Max vs Z max
Hornady sold boxes of Z Max bullets which appear to be the same as their V Max, except the plastic tip is light green instead of red.
Is there any difference in performance of these two? I friend told me the Z Max have a wider weight variance. |

I have used both, but have never seen any difference in performance. I do prep all my brass, but don't weigh bullets for varmint and vermin shooting.

Per one comment from Hornady, the only difference between them is the tip color, yellow was for the Zombie craze/marketing ploy.

I didn't care what they called them or the color, loved the price.

You are right there.. I did find 500 of the z-max a few days ago, but did pay a little more than what I did in the past, but not that much more to not grab them.

No difference in performance from my experience. I've got 3 full 500 ct boxes on the shelf plus some that are already loaded for the next pdog trip whenever that may be.

Agreed. Bought many thousand of them, no difference to the Vmax except they were 50% cheaper. Still using some.
