Default Dakota Predator 223 twist

Back on the early Dakota Predator rifles, the barrels were supplied by Douglas as I recall. Can anyone tell me what twist rate they were produced in? I am thinking 1:10. Thanks in advance, Jack

Default dakota predator 223 twist

if i remember correct when you ordered a rifle you had a choice of twist rate
with options of 7 to 16 twist,if you have the rifle you can find out by using cleaning rod with patch mark rod with tape, pull rod from muzzle to breach and stop when you get 1 revolution on rod then measure marks on rod to find out.

I have Dakota 223's with both 14 twist and 10 twist. I'm sure that if you ordered a rifle you could specify the twist. BTW, early barrels were Lilja 3-groove and later barrels are Douglas Premium. As was said, the best way to determine twist is to do the cleaning rod thing with a snug patch, etc.

Determined it has a 10 twist.

What is the heaviest bullet that has shot well in your 10 twist Joe?
