I've had mcgowen, shilen, lilja. I like lilja the best so far. Think I'll try a pac-nor next. Well, after I chamber the other blanks I have already.

I have never had a problem with Shilen barrels. I have never had a 17 cal. barrel from them but what problems were found and did you contact Shilen to see what they thought? Just curious as I have thought the next 17 barrel I would get would be a Shilen.

Depends on how much money you what to put into it. What did you have in mind?

Have had excellent shooters from both Lilja and Pac-nor.

I wanted a 17 FB, 1-9 twist, 23" sport contour for a "walk about" gun. I have a 6PPC Shilen that has shot some extremely small groups for me. I visited their factory last year during their open house. I asked about barrels that did not shoot to a customers satisfaction and they said they would always make it right. They seem dedicated to the shooter and the sport to me.

I've had several Shilen Select Match barrels in 17 cal. with zero issues. All were/are accurate and easy to clean. I would purchase a Shilen again without hesitation. I've also had success with McGowen as well as MGM in 17 cal.
