Yep, I call it the 17 Boomer. It's the 17 Jav Imp run in short. I like it.

Necked down a few 22s to 17. Way too small for my liking so I settled on a 20.
Sent a dummy round off and had a reamer cut to those specs. Something about the 22 TCM being proprietary but changing to 20 changed things and the reamer was cut with no issues. Even went as far as to have dies cut. Full length and seater from Whidden. Have popped a few rounds to see how the brass fir the chamber but that's as far as I've got. Got a small batch of ammo loaded up with AA2230. My 20 TCM is built on a Savage action and loading can be a PITA. You have to point the bullet up and into the chamber before you even think about closing the bolt. Out of curiosity, I dropped a 20 TCM dummy round into my XP 100 action chambered in .221 Fireball, partiality closed the bolt and if feeds and extracts like a DREAM!!! So, now I know what action I need to build my gun.. |

Mike: You might want to look into a single shot sled, from Bob's Original Sled for that savage, just might cure your feeding issue.

I built the first 17 Boomer, before the TCM case came out, using LC 223 brass. When they brought out the TCM I was luckily to get a 1000 of the first run. The first 17 was on a CZ and had to be feed part way into the chamber to close the bolt. My new 17 and 20 Boomers are on Rem SA with a full length SS follower epoxied in place. I use Kiff's cone nose bolts. Either of the cases can literally be tossed in on the follower and close the bolt. They chamber as if they had eyes. I'm guessing but I've probably shot over 3000 rounds with the 20 Boomer getting the most use. They are great rounds for squirrels out to 300 yds.

Maybe a Howa Mini action.

Aaron is your TCM brass, brass or nickle plated. The latter may give you some problems with neck thickness unless you have your reamer made for it. When I last checked they aren't making a brass case for the TCM. I had a hard time finding a good supply last summer.
