Default Question on reloading 17 AH with 17 squirrel dies.

Looking at pictures of the 17 caliber line up it looks to me that the 17 squirrel and the 17 AH have the same shoulder angle. My searching hasn't gotten my anywhere that has the dimensions of these case. Does anyone know what the angles are for these cases? I has a set of 17 squirrel forming and loading die but haven't had a barrel built yet. And with the cost of the die set for the AH if I was to come across a 17 AH barrel could I come use the squirrel dies to resize the AH cases? I have a set of 17 HH dies and I think I could use this seater die to seat the bullets in the AH.

Thanks Mike

Mike: Off hand I believe the 17 HH has a 25 degree shoulder angle.. Google some dimensions on the cases and make sure. However the Ackley Hornet has a 30 degree shoulder. Bill K

Yes - as far as I can visualize, both squirrel sizing and HH seating dies will work just fine, as long as you have the depth/height set correctly so as not to interfere with ANY shoulder inconsistencies.
