Default Penetration at subsonic velocities. 1050 feet per second

Hello all, I have a penetration and expansion comparison question.

What are your favorite 22lr or .172" subsonic loads?

The test medium was common modeling clay.

CCI 22lr 40gr subsonic 1050fps, 7.5cm

17VHA 33.4gr NOE 1050fps 14cm penetration

.17VHA bottom left, the other 4 pices are 22LR CCI segmented subsonic fragments

Haven't gotten a chance to finish my barrel but I plan on trying 80gr nosler cc's and 90gr smk's subsonic from the .223 short (1.125" case 16.3gr capacity) will be an AR barrel

I'm real tempted to buy one of erik's molds. he used to offer the new lee c225-55-rf mold hollow pointed for only $99.(no longer listed on his site though) I figured that with the gas check milled off would bring the weight down to 45-50gr. cast with pure lead and powdercoated it should be a impressive little bullet.

I use an AMT semi 22LR which has a match chamber thus anything with any level of grease means a total strip after about 20 rounds.

Currently I am using CCI 40 gr SSHPs, not quite the accuracy of Eleys but nice and clean and they cycle well.
