Default 6mm ??

I thought I had some 55 grain sierras, must have shot them up. Those of you that have used say the 55-58 grain 6mm offerings, any to stay away from, any to be sure and try?

6TCU, 1-8" 26" barrel.

TIA
Jeff

Default 6mm lightweights

I've had real good luck with Sierra 60gr HP bullets and Nosler 55gr ballistic tips. I have some Nosler 55gr Varmageddon bullets that I haven't tried yet. Lots of powders work well, but if I were to start with something, it would be Benchmark, in my 6x45.

I've used the 55 gr nosler on a 243 and kept them under an inch. They were smokin hot. Made a mess out of a woodchuck or two. The Sierra 60 hp did well to. I seem to struggle to find a bullet my 243 won't shoot well. Good problem to have

Haven't been able to get the 55g Nosler FB tipped varmageddon to shoot in 3 different barrels. The 70g varmageddon works well though. A 26" TCU should fling a 70 3300.

55nbt is usually the fastest followed closely by the 55BK. I'm fond of 58vmax myself.

55nbt,55bk, or 58vmax and AA2200 have great speed in the 6x45, TCU or 6x45ai.

I have two 6X47 Rem caliber rifles and I have found the 60 grain Sierra to be the answer for my shooting. I have tried other bullets but the 60 Sierra hollow points are the best.

I have tried several light weights in my 6x45,
60 Serria are very accurate, but drift badly in the wind, I like 58 gr v-max, not overly good accuracy for me with the 55 BT,
I mostly now shoot the 65 gr V-max. Found this a better choice for me,

I have mainly used 55 & 70 gr. Nosler BT's in my Sako 6PPC varmint. They both shoot excellent so I have never tried anything else. I finally picked up some of the 55 & 70 gr. Nosler tipped varmageddens to try, hope they shoot better than they did for Grocmax.

No PM received.

SHOTS 6mm 55g aka Dogtown aka Varmint Nightmare. 55g spitzer lead tip. They are known to be a bit fragile, so fast twists + fast speeds might be an issue.

Midweight cheap varmint/plinker- both 70TNT and 70 varmageddon will work well in an 8 twist TCU. 70TNT can be fragile above 3400 or so in an 8 twist, shot a bunch in the 6XC, works better in the TCU slowed down a little.

Speer TNT's can shoot very very well for the price and go boom on PD's.

70 varmageddon works well, its the 55 tipped one I couldn't find a barrel that liked them. Didn't try the 55g FB HP version. Shoot lots of 8 twist 6TCU 70 varmageddons at 3250-3350 FPS.
