DD:
Hey, great seeing you're doing so well. What part of OK? Some parts are greener than others. West end in places can be a mighty long way from anywhere else. AND NO Tree's in sight either. Out here on the plains there's a lot of such areas. You'll have some big varmints to hunt down there: feral hogs. Glad you got married again and hope you both have good health. Cute pup too. Sounds like a hunter in the making. IF you're going by here, rattle my cage and if it works stop by even. Best wishes for the next 40 years.

Same with Alberta - Richardson's Ground Squirrels and Columbia Ground Squirrels.
Saskatchewan only has the Richardson's squirrels, I'm sure - billions of them. We only have the Columbia Ground Squirrels here in BC - along with rock chucks,, several other species of marmonts and actual Eastern Ground Hogs - a few. The woodchucks and Marmots are protected, unless on private property causing damage (which is what they do).

Which wife?
Late wife is shooting her tricked out 10-22. New wife is shooting a Savage 93R. I bought it for a house gun for company. When we went on our first gopher hunting date, I loaned it to her. She never gave it back. Gun sits in here gunsafe now. I loaned her one of Martini's in 17 Hornet to shoot a Rock chuck. She likes to tell people her rock chuck story and uses the term "my gun" in her story. I have that gun back and it is in my gunsafe under lock and key-for now. For years the late wife wouldn't shoot chucks, then one day... I built that Martini for her in .22 K-Hornet. Once she shot a chuck with it she wanted to hunt chucks. After she passed, i gave her gun to our son for his girls, our grand daughters to shoot. Thanks for letting me trip down memory lane. I have been blessed by having two wonderful wives who enjoy hunting with me. Montana gave me opportunity to enjoy time outdoors with them.
