Default Radar Chronograph

Does any one here use a Radar chronograph?

My old Oehler is tired. It has trouble with the black powder cartridges I shoot.

How well does the radar work with 17's.

I've got a Labradar and it works great. I believe the manual says it maxes out at 3999 fps and I know it won't clock my 32 grain factory loads from my .204. It works fine with my .17HH and others I've tried like .223, .308, .338 Lapua and .50 BMG. I've got the air rifle microphone for use with pellet guns and subsonic .22LR. I think I've tracked bullets out to 60 or 70 yards.

It's pretty neat, if you use a memory card in it, you can see the velocity of say 3145.6@ 34.2 feet and then 3082.4@123.5. You can then use an online calculator or app to get BC's. One of my friends does some cast bullet shooting and is excited to get some BC info on his bullets.

My cousin owns a lab radar and has allowed me to borrow a few times. it's a great tool to have. every round you send down range can be logged without fear of shooting it or having a chrono on the barrel that could alter peformance.

was going to say it doesn't work well with suppressors at times but from the post above I guess there is a microphone upgrade which i'll have to relay to my cousin.

another feature that will be valueable once released is the bluetooth connectivity. this will allow you to transfer directly into your ballistic solver for real time updates of what that rifle is doing at given day/time.

I'd have one, except the speed limit on it is too low for most of the stuff I shoot. If it hasn't changed since I was going to buy one, it's only 3900 fps.
